RODP Course/Program Development Documents and Procedures At ETSU
-
TBR/RODP Electronic Course Development Proposal
This document is to
be completed for each course in the program. The document should be emailed to
the address on the form and a copy of the document should be given to the
ETSU TBR/RODP Curriculum representative. The
Curriculum representative will “defend” the course proposal during the RODP
Curriculum Committee review.
-
RODP Course Syllabus document
This is the format
into which the course syllabus must be configured.
-
Developer Request for Review form
When the developer
has completed the course development process, the request for Review Form must
be submitted. The RODP Course review process will begin after the submission of
this form.
-
RODP Content Assessment- RODP Reviewer’s Form
This is the form
that the review team will use to assess the developed course. The RODP
Curriculum committee has subcommittees that review courses. Following the
submission of this form, the faculty member will get a report of changes needed
in the developed course.
-
The ETSU/RODP Memorandum of Understanding for RODP course development
This document
defines the IPR and compensation guidelines for RODP courses at ETSU. It should
be completed and routed through the signatures on the form for approval.
-
Change of Grade and other Student Issues
Change of grade
procedures and forms for RODP courses must be coordinated with the ETSU/RODP
student contact Scott Vaughn,
vaughn@etsu.edu. Any student complains either from ETSU students enrolled
in the RODP course or students from other TBR schools enrolled in the course are
managed by Mr. Vaughn.
ETSU Compensation for RODP Course
Development and Teaching
Faculty developers
receive $ 5000 inclusive of fringe benefits for each course developed following
the completion of all review and approval processes and following the transfer
of funds from TBR to ETSU. Faculty developers must teach the course as part of
load the first term it is offered. Following the first term of offering, the
faculty member teaching the section receives $ 1000 additional compensation for
each section taught because of the added complexity of managing an online course
with students from other institutions and the distributed nature and complexity
of the RODP process.
Course
Offerings and Scheduling
As a general rule,
all developed RODP courses are offered each term, fall, spring and summer. The
developing institution has the exclusive rights to teach these sections up to a
maximum of six. If the developing institution cannot meet the section needs of
RODP, the RODP Central staff will attempt to find an instructor at another TBR
school.
RODP Training
All RODP developing
and teaching faculty must complete official RODP training. The ETSU/RODP trainer
is Myra Jones,
mjones@etsu.edu . Faculty must complete this training before they have
access to the RODP Course development server.
Any
Questions related to RODP at ETSU should be directed to Dr. Karen King,
Associate Vice President for Academic Technology and Executive Director,
E-Learning and Online Education, kingk@etsu.edu or to Pat Westington, Internet
Program Support Coordinator, westingt@etsu.edu
